Sunday, January 29, 2017, 7:30 pm, at Yellow Springs First Presbyterian Church
The remainder of this season’s concerts will feature ensembles new to Yellow Springs.
First is Calmus Ensemble, a vocal quintet from Leipzig, Germany. Formed in 1999 as an a capella ensemble shaped by the centuries-old tradition of great German boys choirs, Calmus evolved in 2001 to be a mixed vocal ensemble of soprano, countertenor, tenor, baritone and bass. An ensemble at home with great traditional vocal music while also demonstrating a tireless quest to discover new repertoire, Calmus will bring some of both for us to hear.
Join us for this exciting a cappella tribute to William Shakespeare in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of his passing. For more information, click here to see the program and program notes.
