Since winning our Competition for Emerging Professional Ensembles on April 24, 2016, the Rolston String Quartet has continued to have success after success! On September 4, they were named First Prize Laureate of the 12th Banff International String Quartet Competition (BISQC). According to the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Banff, Alberta, Canada, “Following five rounds of live performances this week at Banff, the Rolston String Quartet demonstrated excellence across multiple genres.”
In May, they shared the Prix Durosoir at the 8th International Bordeaux String Quartet Competition and were also awarded third place in the strings division of the inaugural M-Prize by the University of Michigan’s School of Music, Theater & Dance. The Rolston has recently been selected as a winner of the Astral Artists 2016 National Auditions. We wish them well in their continued successes!
