“For more than a half century, I have been actively exploring a renewal of the role of Art, particularly of classical music, in society. The new concert format, emerging now is from drawing on my experience in performing thousands of concerts, organizing hundreds of IDRIART Festival (where audiences have been traveling with the artists to the crisis areas of the world), and working with hundreds of business organizations worldwide. This format is aimed to reposition the role of Art as a real
transformational force in society – to liberate the Art from its one-sided role of
“entertainment” or Show”. The basic idea is to join both performer and
audience beyond and above the dualism of just “stage and auditorium” rather, to go together to the cutting edge of an emerging future. This requires a new quality of listening: we are born with hearing but must learn to Listen.”
